Treslyn Shipley-Gleeson is a Texas-raised artist who has developed an interest in capturing connection through her work. She currently resides in Chicago, IL, and has developed a studio practice of painting figures in relatable and everyday situations. Beyond studio work, she often works with families and businesses to paint bright portraits filled with energy. Whether fulfilling commissions or creating personal pieces, she strives to make art that is approachable to any viewer.
Treslyn has been greatly influenced by her uncle William Alther, a leading landscape and wildlife artist, Wayne Thiebaud, the late American painter known for his colorful works depicting commonplace objects, and Makoto Fujimura, a process-driven contemporary artist and theologian. Besides painting to the tune of the latest audiobook in the background, she enjoys spending Saturday afternoons with her husband and friends, estate sale hunting, and she has never met an apple she didn't like.
